Regensburg, February 2026 – INSYS icom, premium manufacturer of industrial routers and expert in industrial data communication, appoints René Al-Abid as Head of Product. In his new role, the former Product Manager will promote the systematic integration of security, compliance and governance requirements across the entire product portfolio.
In his role as Product Manager, René Al-Abid contributed to the further development of M2M communication services and software products for a year and a half. As Head of Product, he will now be fully responsible for INSYS icom’s product strategy.
“Industrial communication today is inextricably linked to IT security and regulatory responsibility. My goal is to create products that are fundamentally secure, traceable and compliant – not as an add-on, but as a foundation”, says René Al-Abid. “INSYS icom should become the equivalent of secure and compliant industrial communication for customers and partners – especially in security-critical and critical infrastructure-related fields of application.“
Most recently, René Al-Abid worked for Myra Security, one of Germany’s leading providers of cyber security solutions for critical infrastructures and the public sector. With the expertise he gained there, INSYS icom brings competence in the field of IT security from security-critical environments to its own product organisation.
