Assign devices to different groups and control the connections within and between these groups. Access to protocols, devices or ports can be restricted.
Monitor the availability of individual routers integrated into the VPN and the devices and applications behind them.
Notifications can optionally be sent by email or text message.
A secure thing? The complete hosting takes place in a German, ISO 27001-certified data centre.
The INSYS VPN service impresses with a range of highlights
China – VPN:
INSYS icom now offers secure, legal and stable connectivity between its VPN solution hosted in Germany and INSYS icom routers located in mainland China. The new VPN connection for China has outstanding availability and performance – plus, will be included in the standard service icom Connectivity Suite – VPN.
Why is that relevant for many companies? The Chinese authorities passed an internet security law enforced by a second “Great Firewall” that is more effective than the original firewall at restricting internet access in mainland China.
No need for sharing usernames and passwords with technicians
By receiving a unique code on an open TOTP app (Time-based One-Time Password) it is easy to sync the device with your iCS account with high level security and usability.
To prepare for this step, an OpenTOTP app should be downloaded to their device of choice (typically a mobile device). TOTP is short for Time-based One-time Password and such applications offer a unique code after being matched with a source application, in this case, icom Connectivity Suite – VPN.
Once a customer activates two-factor authentication and matches the device application with their iCS account, they will be prompted to enter a six-digit code from their second device to meet the iCS authorization requirements at login. The underlying technology is proven and ubiquitous. The use of open source solutions has the advantage that customers don’t have to register with other companies to use the second device application.
