In a number of projects the plants were connected to a central process control system from the firm of FlowChief. The INSYS icom routers provide secure and transparent communication between the plant network and the process control system via an encrypted VPN connection.

For example, DSL or LAN can be set up by default as an Internet connection. If the above-mentioned WAN connections fail due to construction work, for example, mobile radio automatically secures the connection and is used as bridge technology until the fault is rectified.
