Personal data

Personal data is data which concerns your person. This includes your name, address and email address. You are also not required to disclose personal data in order to visit our Internet site. In a small number of cases, we require your name and address, as well as additional information, so that we can provide you with the requested service.

The same applies in case we provide you with requested information or when we answer your queries. In such cases, we will always inform you of this. Otherwise, we only save the data which you have provided us with automatically or voluntarily.

Should you use one of our servers, we generally only collect the data which is necessary in order to provide you with our service. We may request further information from you, which you may provide voluntarily. Whenever we process personal data, we do this in order to be able to provide you with our service or in order to pursue our commercial objectives.

Non-personal data which is saved automatically

Should you visit our Internet sites, in certain circumstances we save specific information for administrative and technical reasons. This can include: Type and version of the browser used, date and time of the access, as well as the IP address.

This data is anonymised and only used for statistical purposes, as well as to improve our Internet and online services.

This anonymised data is saved on secure systems, separate from personal data, and cannot be attributed to any individual person. This means that your personal data remains protected at all times.

Cookies

When you visit our Internet sites, we may save information on your computer in the form of cookies. Cookies are small files which are transferred to your browser from an Internet server and on whose hard drive they are saved. Only the Internet protocol address is saved during this process - no personal data. This information which is saved in the cookies allows you to automatically be recognised again next time you visit our Internet site. This makes the use of our Internet site easier for you.

Of course, you can also visit our Internet sites without accepting cookies. Should you not wish for your computer to be recognised again next time you visit, you can also reject the use of cookies by altering the settings in your browser to “reject cookies”. You can find the respective procedure in the user instructions of your respective browser. Should you reject the use of cookies, this may however lead to restrictions when using certain areas of our Internet sites.

Use of Google Analytics with anonymisation function

We use Google Analytics on our website, a web analysis service of Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 USA, hereinafter referred to as “Google”. Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”, text files which are saved on your computer and which enable an analysis of the use of the website by you.

The information which is generated by these cookies, such as time, location and frequency of your website visit, including your IP address, is transferred to Google in the USA and saved there.

We use Google Analytics on our website with the "_gat.anonymizeIp” addition.  In such a case, your IP address is shortened by Google in Member States of the European Union or in other Members States of the European Economic Area and is anonymised as a result.

Google will use this information to evaluate your use of our site, in order to compile reports of the website activities for us and to provide further services which are connected to the use of the website and use of the Internet. Google may also transfer this information to third parties, should this be required by law or should third parties process this data on behalf of Google.

According to information their declaration, Google will never combine your IP address with other data of Google. You can prevent the installation of cookies by setting your browser software accordingly. However we wish to point out that in such a case, you may not be able to fully use all functions of our website.

In addition, Google offers a deactivation add-on for the most up-to-date browsers, which gives you more control as to which data is recorded by Google in connection with the websites which you visit. The add-on notifies the JavaScript (ga.js) of Google Analytics that no information concerning the website visit should be transferred to Google Analytics. The deactivation add-on for browsers of Google Analytics does not however prevent information being sent to us or other web analysis services which may be used by us. Further information concerning the installation of the browser add-on can be obtained from the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de

Should you visit our page from a mobile end device (smartphone or tablet), you will have to click this link instead, in order to prevent the tracking inside of this website by Google Analytics in the future. This is also possible as an alternative to the browser add-on above. By clicking on the link, an opt-out cookie is generated in your browser, which is only valid for this browser and this domain. Should you delete the cookies in this browser, the opt-out cookie is also deleted, which means that you will have to click on the link once again.

DoubleClick by Google

DoubleClick by Google is a service of Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA ("Google"). DoubleClick by Google uses cookies in order to display adverts which are relevant to you. In such a case, your browser is assigned an identification (ID) number in pseudonym form in order to check which adverts have been incorporated into your browser and which adverts were retrieved. The cookies do not contain any personal information. The use of DoubleClick cookies merely enables Google and its partner websites to place adverts on the basis of previous visits to our website or to other websites on the Internet. The information which is generated by the cookies is transferred by Google to a server in the USA for evaluation and saved there. Google complies with the data protection regulations of the “US Safe Harbor” treaty and is registered with the “Safe Harbor” programme of the US Ministry of Trade. A transfer of the data to third parties by Google only takes place in accordance with statutory regulations or within the framework of the order data processing. Under no circumstances will Google combine your data with other data which Google has recorded.

By means of the use of our websites, you are declaring your agreement to the processing by Google of the data which is gathered about your person and the manner of data processing described above, as well as your agreement to the named purpose. You can prevent the saving of cookies by setting your browser software accordingly. However, we wish to point out that, in such a case, you may not be able to fully use all functions of our websites. In addition, you can prevent the recording by Google of the data generated by the cookies and which relates to your use of the websites, as well as the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin which is available via the following link under double click deactivation extension. Alternatively, you can deactivate the double click cookies on the website of the Digital Advertising Alliance via the following link.

DoubleClick Ad Exchange

DoubleClick Ad Exchange is a service of Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA ("Google").  DoubleClick Ad Exchange uses cookies in order to display adverts on our website. The information which is saved in this way can be gathered, stored and processed by Google or its partners. In addition, so-called “web beacons” (small graphics) are used in order to gather data. By means of this, information concerning visitors to our website is gathered (for example browser, operating system, previously visited sites, IP address, date and time). The gathered data is transferred to a server of Google in the USA and saved there. This data is used by Google for statistical evaluation of the user behaviour in connection with adverts which are placed by DoubleClick Ad Exchange. If applicable, the data is forwarded on to third parties, if this is required by law or if third parties process the data on behalf of Google. You can block the saving of cookies by setting your browser accordingly. Web beacons can be made visible or blocked by means of browser extensions such as Ghostery. You can find further information here: https://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy/

Use of Google Remarketing

This website uses the remarketing function of Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA ("Google"). The purpose of this is to display adverts which may be of interest to website visitors within the Google advertising network. This technology enables us to place target-group-oriented advertising which is generated automatically following your visit to our website. The adverts relate to products and services which you clicked on during your most recent visit to our website. For this purpose, a so-called “cookie” is saved in the browser of the visitor to the website, which enables it to recognise the visitor once again if they access these websites which belong to the advertising network of Google. Cookies are small text files which are saved in your browser when you visit our website. In such a case, Google normally saves information such as your web request, the IP address, the browser type, the browser language and the date and time of your request. The purpose of this information is the assignment of the web browser to a specific computer. It is then possible for adverts to be displayed for the visitor on the pages of the Google advertising network which relate to content which the visitor accessed previously on websites which use the remarketing function of Google.

Should you have agreed to the use via  https://www.google.com/settings/u/0/ads/authenticated, which means that your browsing history is combined by Google with your Google account and that information from your Google account is used for personalised advertising, the remarketing function also takes place across multiple devices. In such a case, your Google ID is gathered by Google and is used for the purpose of recognition across multiple devices.

According to information provided by Google, it generally does not gather any personal data during this process. However, should you wish to block the remarketing function of Google, you can deactivate it by carrying out the corresponding settings via the following link: http://www.google.com/settings/ads.

Alternatively, you can deactivate the use of cookies for advertising which is tailored to your interests via the advertising network initiative by following the instructions via the following link: http://www.networkadvertising.org/managing/opt_out.asp.

You can also prevent the saving of cookies by setting your browser software accordingly. However, we wish to point out that, in such a case, you may not be able to fully use all functions of this website.

You can obtain further information as to how Google uses cookies in the data protection declaration of Google.

Google uses cookies, which are saved on your computer and which enable an analysis of the use of the website. The cookies for the so-called “conversion tracking” are set if you click on an advert which has been placed by Google. These cookies cease to be valid after 30 days and do not serve the purpose of personal identification. Should you wish to prevent the “conversion tracking”, you can set your browser in such a way that cookies from the “googleadservices.com” domain are blocked. You can claim your right to opt out via the following site: http://www.networkadvertising.org/choices/ . Use of Twitter Analytics

We use Twitter Analytics on our website. This is provided by Twitter. Twitter is a service of Twitter Inc, 795 Folsom St., Suite 600, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA.

Hereby a user action pixel of the provider is used for statistical purposes. This allows the user behaviour to be traced, if the user was transferred to this service by clicking on the Twitter advert. By means of this, Twitter adverts are assessed for market research purposes, so that future advertising measures can be improved. The data which is gathered is anonymous. Therefore it is not possible for the provider to trace a specific person. However the data is saved and processed by Twitter. Therefore, a connection to the corresponding user profiles is possible, which means that Twitter can use the data for its own advertising purposes. The provider and its partners may also use this data outside of Twitter in order to trigger advertising. In this context, cookies could also be saved on your computer. You can prevent the saving of cookies by settings your browser on to “reject cookies”.

You can find further information in the data protection declaration of Twitter at http://twitter.com/privacy

You can change your data protection settings in the account settings at http://twitter.com/account/settings

Use of Twitter Advertising

We use Twitter Advertising on our website. This is provided by Twitter. Twitter is a service of Twitter Inc, 795 Folsom St., Suite 600, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA.

With this function, visitors to our website can be addressed with advertising, on the website of Twitter, which is based on their interests. In this process, the website visits are recorded and data concerning the corresponding use behaviour is generated. The recording of this data takes place in pseudonymous form, so that it is not possible to trace a person personally. Next time you visit the website of Twitter, you will receive targeted adverts there.

This function can be deactivated via the following link: https://support.twitter.com/articles/20171528. Twitter also provides the option of preventing the above use of data via the “Do Not Track” function: https://support.twitter.com/articles/20171372

You can find further information in the data protection declaration of Twitter at http://twitter.com/privacy

Use of Twitter Button

We use components of Twitter on our website. Twitter is a service of Twitter Inc, 795 Folsom St., Suite 600, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA.

By means of the inclusion of Twitter Button, Twitter is informed as to which specific page of our Internet presence is currently being accessed. Should you already be logged in to Twitter before visiting our website, Twitter can assign the visit to your Twitter account and provide a link. In such a case, data is transferred to a server of Twitter.

We do not have any influence over the data which Twitter gathers in such a case, neither do we have any control over the scope of this data which is gathered by Twitter. According to our state of knowledge, the URL of the respective website which has been accessed, as well as the IP address of the user, is recorded. However, this information is not used for purposes other than tracing the visits to the website. You can find further information in this regard in the data protection declaration of Twitter at http://twitter.com/privacy.

You can alter your data protection settings in the account settings at http://twitter.com/account/settings.

YouTube

In order to include videos, we use the provider YouTube. Thereby, the videos have been incorporated in extended data protection mode. However, like most websites, YouTube also uses cookies in order to gather information about the visitors to its Internet page. Amongst others, YouTube uses these in order to record video statistics, to prevent fraud and to improve user friendliness. This also leads to the generation of a connection to the Google Double Click network. When you start the video, this could trigger further data processing actions. This is out of our control. You can find further information about data protection at YouTube in its data protection declaration via the following link: http://www.youtube.com/t/privacy_at_youtube

Sending of newsletters

We use the service of Company Inxmail GmbH in order to send the newsletter. In this framework, the so-called double opt-in procedure is used, i.e., we will not send you a newsletter by email unless you have expressly confirmed to us in advance that we should activate the newsletter service. We will then send you a notification email and request that you confirm by clicking the link contained in this email that you wish to receive our newsletter. During your registration for the newsletter, we will save your IP address and the date of the registration. The sole purpose of this saving is proof in case that a third party hacks your email address in order to register you for receipt of the newsletter without your knowledge or consent.
Should you no longer wish to receive the newsletter from us in the future, you can cancel the subscription at any time without any costs other than the transfer costs in accordance with the basic tariffs being due. A notification in text form to us or our data protection officer (for example email, fax, letter) suffices for this purposes. Of course, each newsletter also contains a de-registration link. You can find the data protection regulations of Inxmail GmbH here here.
