Applications with a serial interface or an Ethernet connection can easily and cheaply be integrated into an existing WLAN or connected to one another. Any device with access to the same network - e.g. including via the Internet - can be used as the remote terminal. Using the free-of-charge VCom virtual COM port driver, Windows programs can address the remote application as though both devices were directly connected.
The i-modul series WLAN wirelessly connect devices to a local network (LAN) or to other WLAN devices:
The i-modul WLAN serial i-module transmits the serial data in IP packets, the standard for local networks and the Internet. At the remote terminal, the data is received either directly by control software or via a virtual COM port driver.
The i-modul WLAN bridge is an Ethernet WLAN bridge that wirelessly integrates the Ethernet devices or wirelessly connects two network segments.
