Set up private charging stations at low cost
Our SGM PilotBox has been designed for use in low-cost, quickly installed charging stations for electric vehicles, e. g. in one's own garage. There are a wide range of possible private and public deployment sites, such as in underground garages belonging to owner communities, hotel car parks, and retail car parks to assist in customer retention.
Mode 3 in compliance with IEC 61851:2010-12
The SGM PilotBox provides all the functions in the Mode 3 charging method. These include generating and monitoring a pilot signal to signal the maximum charging current, detecting the resistance coding in the charging cable, the load protection control, and controlling and monitoring the connector locking and ventilation.
Convenient functions with external control logic
The SGM PilotBox can also be combined with external control logic to provide convenient functions, e. g. the restricting of charge rates by the user or public utility, outputs for giving signals such as "charging cable detected" or devices for remotely transmitting meter data.
Operational reliability
Operational reliability is ensured by, e. g., detecting the connector locking, restricting charge rates and monitoring the charging process with safety shutdown.
